Wisconsindead,if you have not explored the Nov/Dec 72' shows you are in for a treat. The 10 shows from November (minus the 11/12 show which is unlistenable due to poor recording) yield extraordinary versions of the Other One 11/17,Dark Star 11/26,Bird Song 11/19 and 11/22 and 7 versions of Playin' of which 11/15 and 11/18 are as good as it gets. The 5 shows in December are all stellar and to my ear we get the band at it's peak.12/10 Playin' and an all-time Other One,12/11 He's Gone and Dark Star,12/12 Bird Song,Other One,12/15 Playin',He's Gone and Dark Star and 12/31 Playin',Truckin'-> Other One.The less adventurous music in the catalog was also well represented over 14 aforementioned shows with Bobby doing a fine job on his country selections ,Black Throated Wind,a couple of good takes on Around&Around,Jack Straw 11/19,Sugar Mag 11/26.Jerry also contributed two really nice Stella Blue's,two hot China Cat's 12/10 and 12/15,two good Don't Ease Me In 11/17 and11/26,two fine Tenn.Jed's 12/12 and 12/15,and a good Brown Eyed 11/13,Cumberland 11/17,Goin' Down 12/12,I Know you Rider 12/10 and Casey Jones 12/31.

wow, thanks guy! or gal?

and yes i am no stranger (feel like) to fall 72. I love the 12-31 too > drums and bass > jam > too > dew. The addition of crosby adds a bobby like element that is awesome.

I will look into those versions as they are likely straight down my alley. I appreciate it and look forward to jammin out.

Are you a dew fan? I LOVE morning dew and fall 72 has some of THE best ever, and a lot of them. (9-17, 9-21, 10-18, 10-21, 11-19, 12-31)

Jerlouvis forgot to mention the amazing Dark Star>Dew from 11/13/72 which is a must-hear.

I'm not the biggest fan of the 11/19/72 Star, but I do like the 11/26 version which is more in the 'scary' vein and has my favorite Feelin' Groovy jam.

I really like Morning Dew,but I find that it lets me down most of the time, they tend to hack it up either vocally or musically or both.I looked through my notes and didn't find an extraordinary version from 72',but I did like a few of the versions you mentioned and the strange, mournful 11/13 version LIA mentioned, and I must say the 10 minute jam leading to the 5/26 version is some of the bands most beautiful playing ever.I found 2 versions from 73' I thought were outstanding examples,2/28 and 9/11,and 4 from 74',2/24,3/23,6/18 and 9/10.

I know this is a little out of the temporal realm y'all are discussing but I can't resist plugging one of my favorite Dews

It was this song that opened my ears to why some people ONLY like Primal Dead. No matter how well they played in the 80's or 90's, they never SOUNDED like 1967. And, that's something that some people just cannot abide.
